Dave brought up the fact that our 50/50 raffle wasn’t doing very well in sales. All the money goes into our charity account, but no one charity is stipulated as the receiver. Pat Turner suggested we donate some money from the account to the fallen police officers families in West Memphis. St. Jude was also suggested. Jim Willis suggested we give to the officer’s families and build up the account again for St. Jude. Gordon Dodge moved that we keep the 50/50, Jim Willis seconded the motion, it was opened for discussion and approved. Diane Sluder moved that we give the fallen officer’s families $500, Pat Turner seconded the motion and it was approved by a vote of 18 to 13 in favor. It was suggested that we give one prize for the 50/50, and that we start earlier in the year to decide what charity the money will go to. Dave tabled the discussion until the next meeting.
Pat Turner stumped us with a few “fun facts” questions, and the meeting was adjourned at 7:30pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Barbara Cardinal, Secretary
