Meeting Minutes
February 9, 2010

Dave Freeman called the meeting of the Corvette Club to order.  The meeting was held at Sunrise Chevrolet in Collierville.

Dinner

After the meeting, dinner was at the Red Robin Restaurant.

Treasurer’s Report

Susan Allen and gave the treasurer’s report.  The checking account balance as of December 31, 2009 was $2633.95.  The savings account balance as of December 31,2009 was $431.71.  The checking account balance as of January 31, 2010 was 4334.22, and the savings account balance of January 31, 2009 was $451.72.

Membership

Shirley Jones reported that we had no guests.  She also asked everyone to please wear name tags, and will also take orders for T-shirts.  Also, for those interested, she has information on the cruise.

Newsletter

No report was made.

Secretary’s Report

Barbara Cardinal reported that the January minutes will be posted on the web site after additions or corrections. A draft of the February minutes were distributed and asked for corrections or additions.

Corvette Memphis Website

Doug Turner would like to see some interest and ideas and suggestions for updates or changes.  Tina Caronna’s picture will be moved to a memorial page.  Mementoes and pictures about Tina would be appreciated.  Dan Lippy suggested that members and their cars be highlighted on a page; especially new members.  Please contact Doug or Ed Allen about these changes.

New Business

Dave passed a membership roster for additions and corrections.

Dodges will do the Mystery Dinners on the first Wednesday of the month for  March and April.

Sluders will arrange the after the meeting dinner for March.

Chuck Wombough would like to get a group together to go to the Jason Williams Concert on April 30th.  The tickets are $29 and the recipient charity will be Wheelchairs for Veterans.  Contact Chuck if you are interested.

Craig Deckshot presented some of the upcoming events:

….There will be a St. Patrick’s Day party at the Turners on March 20th. Times and details to follow.

….March 26-29th is Corvette Expo at Sevierville.

….Tina’s memorial dedication will be Saturday, April 24th with other activities on Sunday, Makers Mark            Distillery, and Monday a tour of the Corvette assembly plant.  Contact Jim Willis if interested in going. 

….Hot Springs car show put on by the Central Arkansas Corvette Car Club on April 15th – 17th.  Contact Joe and Diane Sluder if you are interested in going.  Reservations will need to be made.

….C5-C6 Bash will be the weekend of April 30th.

….On Memorial Day weekend there will be a car show at Graceland to benefit the Elvis Presley Foundation.  The entry fee is $35 and discount tickets to Graceland.  We will be grouped together if we wish to participate.

….The Red Birds would like to have some of the Corvettes parked in the ball park courtyard before a game to promote the Red Birds.  We need a yes? no? and a date.

….Garage Days will be ongoing.

….Craig will e-mail events to members.

Dave would like to have an open discussion about ways to help new members feel welcome.  Your ideas and suggestions are most welcome.

Joe Dyer had heart surgery, and is doing well.

Since our Treasury lacks the funds to send flowers to ill or hospitalized members, Barbara Cardinal suggested we have a “Sunshine” fund for this purpose.  An amount of $5 was suggested.  This was not voted on as yet, even though some members did contribute.

Lynda Dodge ran the 50/50
