Dodge called the meeting of the Corvette Club to order.
The meeting was held at Sunrise Chevrolet (formerly Bill Heard) in
Collierville. Dinner The
meeting place for dinner was Johnny Frisco’s in Collierville. Treasurer’s
Report Susan
Allen gave the treasurer’s report. The
checking account balance as of March 31, 2009 was $3,668.10.
The charity savings account balance as of March 31, 2009 was $156.65.
Membership Susan
Allen filled in for Deirdre Baker and introduced a group of visitors from a
Corvette club in Marion Arkansas, one local couple and one local individual.
Susan introduced a new member, Rodney Klutz. Newsletter No
report was made. Secretary’s
Report Debbie
Hochstein reported that the February meeting minutes with corrections has
been posted on the club’s website. She
distributed a draft of the March meeting minutes and asked for corrections.
Corvette
Memphis Website No
report was made. New
Business Gordon
announced that he is looking for someone to volunteer to make the dinner
reservations for the monthly meetings for May, June and July.
Len agreed to make the arrangements for April and July.
Craig agreed to make the reservation for the June meeting.
The rest of the year is still open. Kathy
reported that the Corvette Memphis brick is in place at the National
Corvette Museum, section 29. She
thanked everyone who worked to make this happen. The
next Board meeting will be Thursday, May 16th at 6:45 p.m. at the
Dodges home. The main agenda
item will be a review of the draft of the revised bylaws.
This meeting is open to any club members who want to participate in
this review. The draft that
results from this meeting will be sent via email to all the members to
review before the May meeting. Members
may discuss the proposed revision at the May meeting.
A vote will be taken to accept a final version of the revised set of
bylaws at the June meeting. Old
Business Holiday
Party Gordon
led a discussion about the Holiday party.
The location will be the National Country Club.
The date will be Saturday, December 5th .
The band is booked. Their
cost will be $900, and will play from 7:00 – 11:00 p.m.
Beef tenderloin will be on the menu.
We still need a person willing to chair this event. Tina’s
Memorial Fund Jim
Willis reported that all the money has been raised for Tina’s memorial
fund. Gary has the information
he needs to proceed with the design. Revision
of club’s By-laws Jim
Willis reported that the By-laws committee met and have a 2nd
draft of the revision. They are
close to sending a final version to Gordon for review by the Board. Club
Events Day
Trip to Little Rock This
trip is planned for May 7, 8, 9. No additional details were provided.
Day
Trip to Brownsville A
day trip to Brownsville is being planned by Sherrey Willis.
It will be on Saturday, April 18th.
We will meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Willis’ home.
She announced that the sign-up closed at the end of this meeting. Poker
Run A
poker run is planned for April 25th.
It will start at 10:00 a.m. at the Sears at Wolf Chase.
The admission fee is $10 per car. Cruise Shirley
Jones is organizing another cruise out of New Orleans for October 3-8th
. The cost is $279 per person.
Day trip will be at Cozymell and Progresso.

Dinner The
next progressive dinner is planned for May 16th.
Ann Abbadessa and Sandra Hudson have agreed to host the event.
It will begin at 5:00 p.m. at the Abbadessa’s home. Mystery
Cruise The
next mystery cruise is scheduled for May 6th . Everyone will meet at the Agri-center at 6;30 p.m.
A short drive is planned. If
you are running late, you can contact Sandra Hudson to find out where the
restaurant is. Garage
Day This
Garage Day was held on March 22nd at Joe Underwood’s.
He reported that there was plenty to eat and drink and several cars
were worked on. Bowling
for Charity Barb
Kaferle is planning a bowling activity to be held on May 3rd at
2:00 p.m. at Billy Hardwick’s All Star Lanes on White Station.
The cost will be $12 per person and the proceeds will go to support
the Baptist Children’s Home. We
will eat at the American Café in Germantown after bowling. The
50/50 raffle was conducted. Respectfully
